Denise Marie Peet
At the age of 51, Denise began her new journey January 31, 2017 after battling Ovarian Cancer for several years. Family members surrounded her for days at The Gathering Together home in Plainfield, IN.
Denise was a free spirited, kind hearted, charitable and giving person. She enjoyed knitting and doing embroidering projects to be given to family members and others she didn’t know.
Before her illness, Denise enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels delivering 100’s of meals for over 20 years in the Bloomington, Indiana area where she lived. Denise enjoyed her friends/family to just stop by, make themselves comfortable and sit to chat. She would not ever let anyone leave without giving them something of hers that she felt they needed or she wanted them to have.
Denise graduated from Carmel High School in 1983. Denise received the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) award after junior high, was inducted into the National Honors Society her junior year and went to Germany for 6 weeks as an exchange student. After graduating from high school she attended 1 year at Purdue University before leaving to pursue other interests.
At Denise’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Gathering Together, 147 N Center St, Plainfield, IN 46168.

Denise was a great work mentor and friend to me for 6 years; she was patient and kind.
I will miss her dry sense of humor and our chats about gardening.

Denise was a very good friend of mine when she was 16 – 18 years old, and is someone I will never forget. Denise had a smile and a great sense of humor that I still think of even after 35 years. My thoughts and prayers go out to her entire family.
